One of the bigger surprises this spring was the emergence of St. Augustine's 2018 defensive end Juan Monjarres.
Monjarres didn't receive much playing time his sophomore season until later in the year and because of that went to work in the offseason.
"I didn't play much last year and I can't even lie I was pretty mad about that." he said. "So I knew that I needed to grind this year and work hard."
The hard work showed at the Nike The Opening regional camp where Monjarres earned the defensive lineman MVP award after impressive showings against some of the nation's top offensive linemen.
