Tulane landed its first commitment since hiring Mike Dunleavy as head basketball coach when former Hawaii forward and Palm Beach State Junior College forward Sammis Reyes decided to commit to the Green Wave on Thursday, said a source with knowledge of the situation.
The 6-foot-7, 240-pound Reyes originally went to Hawaii out of high school but transferred after one season before ever playing a minute because of injuries to his toe and hand.
Reyes will also have three years of eligibility at Tulane and be able to play this season, a source said.
Reyes is a member of the Chilean National team and averaged 7.
