Peyton Manning might not need to wait long after his professional career ended this year to be inducted into a football hall of fame.
The College Football Hall of Fame ballot for 2017 included the former Tennessee quarterback along with others who hold ties to New Orleans, including Marshall Faulk, Morten Andersen and Craig Heyward.
Also on the ballot is former Tulane receiver Marc Zeno.
Manning, whose professional career ended with a second Super Bowl title won in February, was a college standout as the winner of the Maxwell and Davey O'Brien awards, a three-time SEC selection and the 1997 SEC Player of the Year.
