Pete Finney, a legendary sports writer and columnist who covered the New Orleans sports scene for nearly seven decades, died Saturday morning at age 88.
Finney turned out nearly 15,000 columns in a career that began in the waning days of World War II and ended three years after the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl in 2010.
