Devin Powell has been here before. The O. Perry Walker standout will start at quarterback for Tulane on Friday night because of an injury to the regular starter.
Powell, a redshirt junior, has started three games in his career at Tulane – and all three were as an injury substitution.
"I'm used to it," Powell said. "You always have to stay prepared. I'm a football player so this is part of the game. I feel like a starter. I'm ready for anything. Anything that comes to the table, I'm going to handle it."
Powell started as a true freshman in 2012 and went 22-of-41 for 145 yards against Ole Miss before suffering an ankle injury that sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
