Alex Bregman had an eight-game hitting streak snapped on Sunday but has raised his season batting average to .284 in the past week.
Bregman, the former LSU All-American, had 16 hits in 39 at-bats during his recent streak for a .410 batting average. He blasted a three-run homer last Wednesday to help the Astros defeat Washington 6-1. He had two doubles, three homers and six RBI in the eight games.
