We divided the 14 SEC teams between the four of us — four each for Andrew Lopez and Amos Morale, and three each for Jerit Roser and James Smith — and ordered them from the worst overall record in three-win South Carolina to best in defending national champion Alabama, with conference record and head-to-head outcomes used to determine ties.
And from there, we held a fantasy draft for the 2017 recruiting class — attempting to factor in not only the potential of the prospects, but teams' needs and fits when considering schemes, returning players and incoming 2016 signees.
