SAN MARCOS, Texas – Troy rallied from a 9-point fourth quarter deficit to defeat Texas State, 84-78, Thursday night in Sun Belt action at Strahan Arena in the opening game of a season-defining road trip behind a season-high 28 points from Tai'Sheka Porchia.
The Trojans (14-8, 9-2) trailed 69-60 with 7:33 to play before ending the game on a 24-9 run sparked by nine fourth-quarter points from reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week Ja'Mia Hollings, who finished with her third straight double-double – 15 points and 15 rebounds.
Thursday's matchup with the Bobcats (15-7, 7-4) was the first of two in a row on the road for the Trojans against a team directly behind them in the conference standings – Troy travels to Louisiana (14-9, 8-3) on Saturday.
