BIRMINGHAM, Alabama – Paced by a school-record 8-under par from Fátima Fernández Cano, the Troy women's golf team cruised to a team title at the Samford Intercollegiate, which concluded Tuesday at the Greystone Golf and Country Club.
The title is the second of the year for the Trojans and their fourth over the past eight tournaments dating back to last season. For Cano, the individual crown was her third of the year in just six tournament appearances; she finished second in another and no lower than a tie for 19th on the year. Cano lowered her stroke average for the season to 71.
