JACKSONVILLE BEACH, Fla. – A trio of Trojans are tied for 14th following Monday's opening round of the Benbow Invitational held at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Course.
Elisabeth Preus, ShaeLee Scarberry and Alyssa Mercado shot matching 79s on the par-71, 6,021-yard course on Monday, where the average score posted across the field of 80 golfers was an 82.59.
Mercado paced the Trojans with three birdies on the day, while Scarberry added two and Preus had one. The remainder of three Trojans on the course – Anna Claire Little, Bruna Roqueta and Elizabeth Caldarelli – are a shot back of their teammates in a tie for 22nd place.
