The Trojans took a step back from the 30-win plateau with a 20-34 campaign in 2017. With 10 freshmen and sophomores on the squad, many of them major contributors, Troy lost several tight games – posting a 3-14 record in one-run games (2-8 in Sun Belt Conference play).
Trojans head coach Beth Mullins believes the lumps taken in her third year will pay dividends in 2018.
“We have a lot more experience on our team. Our sophomores and junior class, who got so much time last year, kinda feel like seniors,” she said. “I feel good about it.
