JACKSONVILLE, Alabama – Troy closed out non-conference play with a 26-point thrashing of rival Jacksonville State Saturday in Pete Mathews Coliseum.
The Trojans (9-2) dominated the middle quarters outscoring the Gamecocks, 51-25 in the two frames while holding JSU to just 6-of-28 shooting over that span. After hitting three of its first seven 3-pointers, Jacksonville State missed its next 13 shots from beyond the arc opening the door for Troy to take control of the contest.
Amber Rivers led all scorers with a season-high 20 points on 5-of-9 shooting and 10-of-14 from the free throw line.
