What we learned as Troy football falls to Appalachian State on Senior Day

The Troy Trojans fell on its senior day to the Appalachian State Mountaineers, 45-7, on Saturday. Despite Gunnar Watson finding Deshon Stoudemire for the score early, and the Trojans holding a 7-3 lead at the end of the first quarter, the Trojans allowed 45 unanswered to end any hopes of a comeback.

Troy falls to 5-6, 3-4 in Sun Belt play. Here's what we learned:

The Trojans struggled to move the ball against the Mountaineers, gaining just 142 yards of total offense. The yards and points were both far below the team average for the season.
