The Troy Trojans and Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders have history together on the field.
The two will face off Saturday in the Battle for the Palladium Trophy, which has some very bad blood that dates back to 1936. Before MTSU moved to Conference USA, the matchup was an annual college football rivalry for a time, and was the oldest meeting in the Sun Belt Conference.
In 1999, the rivalry was renewed after a 46-year drought, which came as a result of both teams competing in different divisions. In 2003, the Palladium Trophy was formally introduced in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
