TROY — Wesley Person Jr. scored Troy’s most points in nine years in the Trojans’ 93-71 win over Texas-Arlington on Saturday.
Person finished with 39 points, the 13th highest total in school history and the most since O’Darien Bassett’s 42 against Florida Atlantic in February 2008.
Person was 13-of-19 from the field, including 10-of-15 on 3-pointers. He tied Troy’s Division I record for 3-pointers made and was one shy of Brian Simpson’s school-record 11 set in the infamous 258-141 win over DeVry in January 1992.
The junior guard, a Brantley graduate, rebounded from a career-worst performance in his last game.
