TROY, Alabama – Troy sophomore Wesley Person has been named the Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon. Person led the conference in scoring last week as he averaged 29 points in Troy's two road games.
The award is the first of Person's career and the second by a Trojan this year after freshman Jordon Varnado won the first weekly honor of the season.
Person accounted for 43 percent of Troy's points on the week as he scored 28 of Troy's 61 points at South Alabama and 30 of the Trojans' 74 points at Appalachian State.
