TROY, Alabama – After turning in a stellar weekend at the plate, Katie Webb has been named the Community Coffee Sun Belt Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
Webb, a Salem, Alabama native, took the award after going 5-for-6 at the plate with three walks, two doubles and a team-high four RBIs this weekend.
In Friday's 10-inning showdown with rival South Alabama, Webb was perfect at the plate batting a 1.000 and turning in her 17th multi-hit game of the season. On Saturday, Webb recorded another multi-hit game going 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
