Tyus takes more vocal role in Troy secondary

TROY – There was plenty of credit to spread around Troy’s defense after the Trojans held Louisiana to 270 offensive yards – about 190 yards under its average – in last Saturday’s 26-16 victory.

Lineman Antione Barker had four tackles, one sack, another tackle for loss and two quarterback pressures. Linebacker Tron Folsom had double-digit tackles for the second game in a row. Safety Kyler Knudsen, in his first collegiate start, added seven tackles, broke up two passes and had the game-sealing interception.

Troy did that will two of its leaders – sophomore Marcus Jones and senior Cedarius Rookard – injured in the secondary.
