TROY – Ashton Williams and Patric Jordan will never forget Troy’s 12-7 victory over Texas State on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Jordan proposed and Williams, a Troy cheerleader, accepted in an on-field moment shown on the video screen during a second-half timeout.
For the rest of the 20,437 at The Vet, well, it’s on to Appalachian State. Not that there wasn’t plenty to see from both defenses and Troy’s special teams.
Kicker Tyler Sumpter may remember this one as clearly as Ashton and Patric. He kicked four field goals of 36, 47, 42 and 27 yards – which tied the school record for the second time in three weeks.
