Troy lineman Deontae Crumitie has made the move from guard to center for the Trojans.
Earlier this year, though, he faced a challenge nearly as tough – switching from guard to center with about one week left in spring camp.
Crumitie admits the assignment was fairly daunting.
“When I first did it, they were like, ‘Can you snap the ball?’ I was like, ‘Nah, I’ve never snapped the ball before,’” he said. “They just threw me in it, (saying) ‘Just try it, try it.’ I kept getting frustrated with it because I wasn’t fast, but (offensive line coach Matt Moore) was like, ‘You’re still learning,’” he said.
