When calls that could lead to six-figure contracts arrive, Burks wants to be able to answer them.
“I’ll answer a call like an operator,” the Daleville High graduate said with a laugh. “(I) just try to be on it more. I don’t want (NFL teams), if they do call me, to be waiting on a call from me.”
Burks’ phone has been fairly busy in the last couple of weeks as the NFL Draft, which begins Thursday, approaches. Burks said several teams have touched base – including the Indianapolis Colts, the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Green Bay Packers and the defending Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos.
