CONWAY, South Carolina – Troy's offense shined recording 12 hits to power the Trojans past Coastal Carolina, 11-3, in six innings and snap its five-game slump Friday afternoon at Charles Wade- John Lott Field.
Leanna Johnson's (13-5) shutout performance matched the booming offense to down the Chanticleers (23-7, 4-3 Sun Belt). Johnson sat down eight batters, scattered seven hits and only gave up one walk.
The action started in the top of the third inning where Troy (19-13, 3-4) plated four runs with hits by Kaylee Chapman and Katie Webb. The scoring was capped off by a two-run home run to left center by Madeline Porter.
