CONWAY, S.C. – The Troy Women's Basketball squad claimed sole possession of the Sun Belt Championship after powering past Coastal Carolina, 71-58, Saturday at the HTC Center.
led the Trojans (22-7, 13-2 Sun Belt) with 13 points on 6-of-13 shooting. The junior also grabbed 12 boards, good for her 13 double-double of the season.
For Coastal Carolina (14-10, 4-9 Sun Belt), Aja Blount tallied 20 points to lead all scorers.
How It Happened
The Trojans and Chanticleers battled toe-to-toe through the opening six minutes of action; Blount made a pair of free throws at 4:10 mark to make it a one-point game, 9-8, in favor of the Trojans.
