ATLANTA – Georgia State overcame a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to knock off Troy 84-80 in GSU Sports Arena on Saturday, handing the Trojans their first Sun Belt Conference loss of the season.
The Trojans (14-3, 5-1 SBC) led by 17 (62-45) with 5:24 left in the third quarter, but the Panthers (9-8, 3-3) scored 15 of the last 19 points in the period to close the gap to 66-60.
Troy opened the final period with eight straight points to go up 14 (74-60), but Georgia State went on 16-2 run to tie the game at 80 with 2:50 left.
