TROY – The Troy women’s basketball team made history on Monday night, claiming its first-ever postseason victory in a dominant 92-62 win over FIU to advance to the WNIT’s Super 16.
The Trojans earned their eighth 20-plus win season in head coach Chanda Rigby’s tenure as they improved to 20-11 and sent the Panthers (21-12) packing behind a career-high 30 points from Ja’Mia Hollings.
The Trojans advanced to a second-round match-up at North Carolina A&T on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
“First of all, I want to thank everyone who showed up to Trojan Arena tonight,” Rigby said of the crowd of 2,196.
