NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – The Troy men's basketball team is heading back to the NCAA Tournament after defeating Texas State, 59-53, Sunday afternoon in the Sun Belt Conference title game at Lakefront Arena.
Troy entered the Sun Belt Tournament as the No. 6 seed and defeated No. 11 Appalachian State, No. 3 Georgia Southern and No. 2 Georgia State before knocking off the fourth-seeded Bobcats for the title.
The Trojans will be making their second NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2003 when Troy played Xavier after winning the Atlantic Sun championship.
