Troy (9-3, 7-1 Sun Belt Conference) will play Buffalo, which was upset Friday in the Mid-American Conference championship game, in the Dollar General Bowl on Dec. 22 in Mobile’s Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The game will kick off at 6 p.m. and will be televised on ESPN.
Buffalo (10-3) lost 30-29 to Northern Illinois in the MAC title game. The Bulls led that game 29-10 early in the third quarter.
“This is a huge opportunity for us,” Troy head coach Neal Brown said. “We always talk about there’s three goals within a bowl game. The first one is to win the game.
