Even before the end of this weekend’s NFL draft, Damion Willis’ phone rang with a job offer, if not a draft choice.
Willis, an explosive 6-foot-4, 199-pound wide receiver from Troy, signed as an undrafted free agent with the Cincinnati Bengals not long after the conclusion of Saturday’s seventh and final round.
Willis and the Bengals had a lot of pre-draft communication, so he knew there was interest from the AFC North team.
“I took a visit up there right before the draft,” Willis said in a phone interview Sunday. “They called me and said they had a spot open and wanted me to come up there.
