Troy running back Jordan Chunn (38) leaps over a defender during a game against UMass at Troy on Saturday.
And for the second consecutive time, it did not matter.
Troy’s offense caught fire after the slow start, building a 28-17 halftime lead before coasting to a 52-31 victory over the UMass Minutemen Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Sixteen days after trailing rival South Alabama by the same score, Troy again whittled away at the lead with a combination of strong defensive and offensive play.
“I thought the layoff really hurt us, you could tell,” Trojans head coach Neal Brown said.
