Troy Trojans show fight at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. — Deshaun Watson threw for three touchdowns, two in the fourth quarter, and No. 2 Clemson held off Troy 30-24 on Saturday.

The Tigers (2-0) scored 17 fourth-quarter points to build on a 13-10 lead.

The Trojans (1-1) had two touchdowns in the final 5 minutes — both Brandon Silvers passes to Deondre Douglas — including one with 44 seconds to play.

“Our players competed and fought all the way to the very end,” Troy coach Neal Brown said. “We played the No. 2 team in the country and gave them everything they wanted.
