Troy Trojans notebook: Jalen Harris wants in on INT parade

Harris and safety Kris Weatherspoon are the only Trojan starters in the secondary without an interception this year. Troy has collected 14 picks overall, leading the FBS in that category.

In his defense, Harris missed the New Mexico State and Idaho games with a groin injury. While he started against Georgia State Saturday and finished with five tackles, he still missed out on the elusive turnover.

“I could have gotten one the other night actually, but I’ve been out two weeks with my groin,” he said. “I couldn’t jump. I really wanted to.”

Troy (5-1 overall, 3-0 Sun Belt Conference) has a short week before traveling to play rival South Alabama (3-3, 0-3) Thursday (6:30 p.
