Troy Trojans' Kaleb Barker out for season with knee injury; Sawyer Smith now No. 1 QB

TROY – Troy junior quarterback Kaleb Barker suffered a torn ACL in last Thursday’s victory over Georgia State and will miss the rest of the season. Sawyer Smith, who has played in every game, will start for the Trojans this Saturday at Liberty.

“We’re not going to change what we’re doing,” Troy head coach Neal Brown said after announcing the injury at Monday’s press conference. “I hate it for Kaleb. We’re going to be fine as a football team and as a program. I hate it for him because I think he was just now scratching the surface of what he could be.
