Troy Trojans go big inside state

TROY — Citing Troy’s “home turf,” coach Neal Brown expressed happiness over the Trojans’ 2016 recruiting class.

Troy signed 15 in-state players, tying the most since the school voted to go to NCAA Division I-A, and had the No. 2 class in the Sun Belt Conference, according to 247sports.com.

The Trojans signed at least three players who had multiple major-college offers — Brown mentioned Edgewood defensive end Kelvin Lucky, Georgia native Sam Letton and Opelika linebacker Zo Bridges — among the 25 they announced Wednesday.

“Those are some guys with some big-time offers that chose to come play at Troy University,” Brown said.
