Troy Trojans' defense preparing for loaded Mountaineers

In the last two seasons, Lamb has completed 25 of 42 passes for 294 yards, three touchdowns and one interception against Troy. He has added 23 carries for 126 yards and another two TDs.

Meanwhile, Cox – who has topped 1,000 yards in his first three collegiate seasons – has 268 yards and three touchdowns on 46 carries against the Trojans. Appalachian State (7-2 overall, 5-0 Sun Belt Conference) has piled up 97 points in two games against Troy (7-1, 4-0) since moving to the FBS level in 2014.

While statistically the Mountaineers are off the pace from last year’s 11-2 campaign, Trojans defensive coordinator Vic Koenning noted Appalachian State’s offense has the potential to be even more explosive this season.
