TROY – There are two schools of thought on the odds of Troy return specialist Marcus Jones running back a kickoff against Coastal Carolina on Saturday.
The first – generally from the people who saw the Trojans play the Chanticleers last year – are extremely skeptical that Jones will get anywhere near an opportunity. After all, it was against Coastal that the 5-foot-9, 174-pound speedster from Enterprise returned the first two kickoffs 91 and 87 yards for touchdowns.
“I don’t think they are going to kick him the ball,” nose guard Trevon Sanders said this week. “It would be exciting to see if he can do the same thing.
