TROY – Troy head coach Neal Brown summed last week’s loss at Liberty like this: “A lot of Troy beating Troy.”
Four sacks, eight penalties and two turnovers contributed mightily to the 22-16 loss.
But the area that drew Brown’s strongest criticism was Troy’s perimeter attack.
“Our perimeter blocking was the worst I have ever been around,” Brown stated, adding that covered his years as a head coach, as an offensive coordinator and even working with wideouts as a position coach.
That shouldn’t be the case on this Trojans team. Troy has playmakers on the edges – from Deondre Douglas and Damion Willis to slot receiver Sidney Davis and several tight end options.
