Troy Swept by Arkansas State

TROY, Alabama – After jumping out to a four-run advantage in top of the first inning, Arkansas State led from wire to wire in a 10-4 Sun Belt conference victory Sunday at Riddle-Pace Field to secure its first ever sweep of Troy.

The Red Wolves (14-7, 3-0) plated four runs in the opening frame, benefitting from a couple of Trojans (9-11, 0-3) errors and a two-run double from Kyle MacDonald. Only two of the runs were earned, both credited to Troy starter Max Newton (1-3) who wore the loss after 0.1 innings on the mound.
