ATLANTA – For the first time since 2005, the Trojans have swept the opening two weekends of conference play after downing Georgia State, 7-1, in the Sunday finale at Bob Heck Field.
Last weekend, Troy (23-6, 6-0 Sun Belt) swept the first weekend of conference play, dropping UT Arlington in each game of the series. The Trojans carried their momentum into the second weekend and completed the sweep of the Panthers (12-11, 0-3 Sun Belt) to earn their first back-to-back sweeps to open conference play since 2005.
Troy struck first in the opening frame utilizing a pair of Georgia State errors, a walk and a wild pitch to plate the first run of the contest.
