Cole Prestegard slammed a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh to break a 1-1 tie. The third-seeded Trojans (39-18) then scored three runs in the eighth on Rigsby Mosley's RBI single and Sadler Goodwin's two-run triple to win going away.
Troy faces the Louisiana-Little Rock winner at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Sixth-seeded Texas State (28-27-1) meets the loser of that contest in an elimination game at 4 p.m. Thursday.
CJ Carter (8-4) picked up the win with 3 1/3 hitless innings, walking two and striking out four.
