TROY, Ala. – Troy student-athletes were well represented at Troy University's Summer Commencement Exercises held Friday in Trojan Arena; 15 Troy student-athletes from eight different programs had their degrees conferred.
Some 430 students, representing 26 U.S. states and 11 nations outside the United States, were expected to participate in the commencement exercises. State Superintendent of Education Dr. Eric Mackey provided the keynote address.
Dr. Mackey was named state superintendent in 2018 and has focused on innovative initiatives outlined in the strategic plan, Alabama Achieves, including the Alabama Literacy Act, STEM, Career Technical Education, and workforce development.
