Troy and Southern Mississippi, who are finishing a home-and-home football series this fall, announced Tuesday a new four-game series in their regional rivalry.
The new dates have Southern Miss visiting the Trojans on Sept. 14, 2024, and Sept. 16, 2028. Troy will play in Hattiesburg, Miss., on Sept. 18, 2021, and Sept. 1, 2029.
Troy won their most recent meeting, 37-31, at Hattiesburg in 2016. This season’s game on Sept. 14 in Troy closes out that two-game contract.
Prior to the 2016 game, the teams had played in the 2008 New Orleans Bowl, which the Golden Eagles won 30-27 in overtime.
