Troy softball player Hannah Day honored nationally for incredible performance

Troy's Hannah Day had 13 hits, including six homers, in four games last week.

USA Softball and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association both named Trojan Hannah Day, a senior outfielder from Crestview, Fla., as their national player of the week Tuesday.

It was well-deserved for Day, who piled up a ridiculous .812 batting average and 2.125 slugging percentage thanks to 13 hits – including six homers – in four games last week. She also drove in 20 runs to lift her season total to 48, which leads Division I softball.

“It’s pretty incredible.
