TROY, Ala. – Despite cutting the deficit in half early in the second half, Troy fell 2-1 on the road at Jackson State Thursday.
Both teams came out the gates firing, recording a pair of shots before the five-minute mark.
Jackson State (1-2) took an early lead in the 15th minute when Maya-Joy Thompson found the back of the net off a pass by Marley Thompson.
Just two minutes, an own goal brought the Tiger to lead to two scores.
Despite, five shot attempts, all of which were on goal, the Trojans struggled to cut into the deficit during the first half.
