Troy Soccer Edged by No. 1 Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Top-ranked Florida State scored 52 seconds into overtime to edge out a 1-0 victory over Troy at the Seminole Soccer Complex on Sunday.

The Trojans defended well allowing just three shots to challenge goalkeeper Mikki Lewis in regulation. Kiersten Edlund put the only shot on goal for Troy.

In the first minute of overtime, Florida State's Kristen McFarland chested in the game-winner off a headed pass from Kirsten Crowley.

Troy survived a scare in the 57th minute when Florida State's Megan Connolly hit the crossbar on a shot from the top of the penalty box.
