TROY, Alabama – Troy's football season opener against Austin Peay has been scheduled for a 5 p.m. kickoff on Sept. 3 in Veterans Memorial Stadium, Troy Athletics Director Jeremy McClain announced Monday morning. Television coverage for the game will be announced by the Sun Belt Conference shortly.
Troy and Austin Peay have met 16 previous times with the Trojans holding an 8-7-1 advantage in the series. It will be the first meeting between the two schools since a 41-3 Troy victory in 2002; the series dates back to 1947.
