TROY, Alabama – Playing in boiling 102-degree heat, Kiersten Edlund and Pensacola FC claimed the program's second-ever WPSL title with a thrilling 4-3 defeat of Utah Royals FC Reserves Sunday at Neal Patterson Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Edlund played most of the 120 minutes in the double overtime affair, she anchored a defense that allowed just four goals during the regular season and held Utah scoreless through the two extra periods.

"The last few minutes were stressful," Edlund said.
"I really didn't want to go to a penalty shootout and I knew we could score another goal.
