Prized junior college prospect Kevin Perkins is no longer with the Troy Trojans’ football team due to academic issues, the Dothan Eagle confirmed Monday.
Perkins played at Northwest Mississippi Community College last year before transferring to the Trojans in the winter. Perkins practiced with the Trojans and earned several snaps before suffering a foot injury that sidelined him for the rest of spring drills.
Perkins (6-foot-3, 230 pounds) would have added a big back to the Trojans’ running back rotation this season – a need given the Trojans graduated power running backs Jordan Chunn and Josh Anderson after last season.
