Troy receiver Deondre Douglas (80) makes a catch during a game against New Mexico State on Saturday night in Troy.
The Trojans tallied more than 400 yards offensively, two special teams scores and five interceptions in a 52-6 rout of the Aggies at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
“What we say here is ‘the program is the ball,’” Trojans head coach Neal Brown said. “We took the ball away from them five times. We didn’t turn it over. Then the special teams are our edge right now.”
Entering the game, Troy (3-1 overall, 1-0 Sun Belt Conference) had outscored NMSU 93-31 in the last two matchups – including a 52-7 drubbing last season in Las Cruces, N.
