TROY – It took a few minutes, but some Florida A&M mistakes helped the Troy Trojans find their rhythm Saturday night at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Rattlers dominated time of possession in the first quarter, but a blocked punt and two turnovers set up three short Trojan touchdown drives in a 59-7 rout.
By the time half of the first quarter had elapsed, Troy had only possessed the ball for 1:23. The Rattlers had mounted two long drives, but a missed field goal had left the game scoreless.
That changed after running back Jabir Daughtry-Frye blocked the second punt of his career deep in Rattler territory.
