Troy jumped out to a 23-point first-half lead on the way to a 37-20 victory over Georgia State at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Thursday night.
B.J. Smith ran for a pair of touchdowns and Kaleb Barker and Sawyer Smith combined for three scoring passes for the Trojans, who won their fifth straight game. Troy (5-1, 3-0 Sun Belt Conference) piled up 554 yards of offense in the game, 337 on the ground.
Barker ran for 75 yards on the game's first play from scrimmage, setting up B.J. Smith's 2-yard touchdown run and a 7-0 Troy lead with 13:33 left in the first.
